Description

Burgruine Stahlberg is a fascinating medieval castle ruin with unique two defensive towers that were part of the southern defensive line of the 'Bacharach Empire'.

Founded around 1155 by the Archbishopric of Cologne, it later passed into the hands of the Wittelsbach Palatines. Unchanged for centuries, the medieval remains make a special impression on visitors.

The castle is accessible via the scenic Stahlberg-Schleife trail and the RheinBurgenWeg, making it an ideal stop for hikers. The untouched surroundings and beautiful views make it a place worth exploring for any history and nature enthusiast.
