Description

Dering Woods is a mysterious forest with a rich history dating back to the Middle Ages. This ancient semi-natural forest covers over 125 hectares and offers two marked trails: a shorter blue trail (1.6 km) and a longer red trail (2.9 km).

The forest is famous for its diverse flora and fauna, including rare species of beetles, nightingales and nutcrackers. Here you will find more than 60 species of mosses and more than 300 species of mushrooms.

Dering Woods is also known as the 'Screaming Woods' due to paranormal phenomena, including legends of an army colonel's suicide and a sinister highwayman. An ideal place for nature, history and mystery lovers.
