The Settlement Exhibition is a fascinating archaeological museum built around an authentic 10th-century Viking house discovered in 2001.

At the heart of the exhibition is the original Viking hall and a fragment of a wall dating back to 871, one of Iceland's oldest archaeological monuments. It was here that the first settler, Ingólfur, and his wife Hallveig established their farm.

Interactive multimedia and reconstructions take you back to the Viking Age, showing how they lived, worked, and faced the challenges of the island's first inhabitants.
