Description
Swansea Museum is the oldest museum in Wales, founded in 1841. Housed in a neoclassical building, this historic facility offers six diverse galleries full of fascinating exhibits.
Among the unique attractions is an ancient mummy tomb, providing insight into ancient Egyptian culture. The maritime section, open during the summer season, showcases three notable boats: Lightship Helwick, tug Canning and the 1909 pilot boat Olga.
The museum also preserves memorabilia such as the streetcars that once connected Swansea's city center to Mumbles pier, offering a fascinating insight into the city's historic transportation systems.
