Description
Sverresborg Trøndelag Folk Museum is one of the largest cultural history museums in Norway, built around the ruins of King Sverre's medieval castle from 1183.
This unique site showcases more than 80 historic buildings, including the oldest brick building in Trondheim and the medieval stave church Haltdalen from 1170.
As you wander between rural homesteads and urban townhouses, you'll learn about the building traditions of the Trøndelag region - from the mountains to the coast, from Samoan cottages to urban mansions. A walk to the top of the castle ruins will reward you with breathtaking views of Trondheim and the fjord.
