Mittelalterliche Lochgefängnisse are fascinating medieval dungeons located in the basement of Nuremberg's Old Town Hall.

This unique attraction allows you to immerse yourself in the dark world of the medieval justice system. As you explore the 12 cells, the torture chamber, the smithy, the prison kitchen and the chamber with the well, you will learn about the harsh conditions in which prisoners awaiting trial or execution were held.

Each cell was equipped with a bed, a bench, a table and a heating bowl by the window - details that bring you closer to the daily life of those imprisoned in the 14th century.
