Mountbatten Statue

The Mountbatten Monument is an imposing 9-foot bronze statue commemorating Lord Louis Mountbatten, the first patron of the Southampton City Society from 1963 to 1979.

This historic sculpture, created by Greta Berlin, stands on a rough-cut pedestal with an inscription highlighting his titles, including Admiral of the Fleet and Commander-in-Chief of the Allied Southeast Asian Forces from 1943 to 1945.

For World War II history buffs and Southampton residents, the monument is an important reminder of the city's rich past and its ties to this distinguished commander.
