591st Dresden Striezelmarkt

The 591st Dresden Striezelmarkt is Germany's oldest Christmas market, dating back to 1434. At Altmarkt, you will find over 200 stalls offering Saxon handicrafts, mining products from the Erzgebirge region, and Christmas delicacies.

The real gems are the world's largest Erzgebirge pyramid (14.62 m), the huge Schwibbogen, and the famous Dresdner Christstollen, a traditional cake from which the market takes its name.

It is worth seeing the Stollen parade with a giant cake cut with a 1.6-meter knife and taking a ride on the historic Ferris wheel, admiring the Christmas panorama of Dresden.
