avatarJas Drew2 weeks agoWe’d heard great things from this place, so we wanted to go here for the traditional dishes. The shop itself is not very obvious, there was no sign outside and a beaded curtain across the door, so it looked like someone’s house. The staff were not very friendly, and didn’t acknowledge us until we waved them over to the desk. Regarding the food itself, personally I didn’t like it - and that’s my personal taste, nothing to do with the bakery. We had the ‘Local Cheese’ and ‘Maxokk Special’. The local cheese was nice but just tasted like a cheesy omelette. The ‘special’ had an odd fishy taste to it, even though there wasn’t any fish on it. Once you order, you need to wait 30 minutes for the dishes to be made, so find a nearby bar for a drink whilst you wait! I think the Maltese dish is worth a try, but unfortunately, don’t go into it with high hopes.
avatarJoshua Pacea month agoNice food, very tasty. Great portion sizes. This is where the locals go so you know it’s good, worth the wait!
avatarAlan Agius3 months agoVery small and local place, but the Ftira was exquisite. Easily shareable by 2 people. 30 minutes wait. One tip: since you cannot eat in, a good idea is to take the ftira somewhere with a good view in Gozo.
