Lanyon Quoit

Lanyon Quoit is a fascinating dolmen from the Neolithic period (3500-2500 BC), one of Cornwall's most famous prehistoric landmarks.

This impressive structure, also known as the 'Giant's Table,' consists of three stones supporting a massive boulder weighing more than 13 tons. Originally taller, it was rebuilt after collapsing in 1815.

The site is surrounded by local legends of giants and shamans communicating with their ancestors. It is part of a rich collection of prehistoric monuments in the West Penwith region, offering a unique insight into the lives of Cornwall's ancient inhabitants.
