Description
Tareq Rajab Museum of Islamic Calligraphy is a unique place dedicated to the art of Islamic calligraphy.
The museum boasts a rich collection of rare Quranic manuscripts, some dating as far back as the 7th century. Here you can admire the works of famous calligraphers such as Yaqut Al-Musta'simi and Sheikh Hamdullah Al-Amasi.
In addition to calligraphy, the exhibition also includes decorated ceramics, metalwork and textiles, including four Burqa (curtains for the doors of the Holy Kaaba) and a veil from inside the Prophet Muhammad's shrine in Medina.
Admission costs 2 KWD and includes entry to the nearby Tareq Rajab Museum of Islamic Art.
