Description

The Royal Standard of England is Britain's oldest pub, with a history dating back more than 800 years. Originally known as 'Se Scip' (The Ship) in 1213, it was renamed after Charles II was restored to the throne in 1663.

The pub impresses with its unique architecture with exposed beams and traditional decor. The venue has been the set for many productions, including 'Hot Fuzz' and 'Midsomer Murders.

Enjoy delicious British dishes and local beers here, including the famous 'Owd Rodger,' a strong ale that was once illegal but was reinstated in 2006.
