Description
Botanical Garden and Museum is the oldest academic botanical garden in the world, founded in 1543 by Luca Ghini.
On three hectares, you'll find more than 3,000 species of plants from around the world, including medicinal plants, aquatic plants and centuries-old trees like magnolias and ginkgo trees.
In the museum, housed in the Palazzo delle Conchiglie, an extensive collection of botanical artifacts awaits you, including 17th-century portraits of famous botanists and a herbarium with more than 350,000 plant specimens collected since the 18th century.
