Description

The St. Mark's Museum is a true treasure trove of Byzantine art, located in the heart of Venice. It delights with a unique collection of artifacts captured during the Fourth Crusade in Constantinople.

Among the most valuable exhibits is the famous Pala d'Oro, an altarpiece decorated with more than 1,900 precious stones, including emeralds and sapphires. You can also admire the St. Mark's Quadriga - four bronze horses that once adorned the basilica's facade.

The museum also displays architectural remains from Italy, Greece and Constantinople, silk and silver tapestries, and precious relics and manuscripts.
