Description
Shing Mun (Jubilee) Reservoir Commemorative Plaque is a historical monument commemorating the construction of the reservoir, which was built between 1935 and 1937 to commemorate King George V's Silver Jubilee.
This impressive structure with a main dam 85 meters high was a true engineering marvel in its time. The stone memorial plaque was declared a monument in 2009.
The surrounding area offers scenic views, numerous picnic spots and hiking trails, including a section of the famous Maclehose Trail. From here, you can admire the reflections of Tai Mo Shan Hill in the calm waters of the reservoir.
