El Portillo Visitor Center

El Portillo Visitor Center is a discreet building blending harmoniously with its surroundings at the northern entrance to Teide National Park.

The center offers fascinating educational exhibits about the local flora, fauna and geological features of the region. Discover a reconstruction of the interior of a volcanic tunnel, interactive elements and a projection room with a film about the park.

In the botanical garden you will see more than 75% of the plant species found in the park, including the famous tajinastes (Echium wildpretii). It's an ideal starting point for nature lovers, hikers and families visiting Teide National Park.
