Description
Special Nature Reserve Montaña Roja is an extinct volcano 171 meters high, covered with reddish lava and unique vegetation.
It's a paradise for nature lovers and birdwatchers - protected species such as the piping plover and the greater behemoth can be found here. The reserve covers 166 hectares with dunes, strange rock formations and tidal pools.
From a historical point of view, the World War II bunkers are a curiosity. The climb to the summit is easy and suitable for families, and there are views of Mount Teide from the top.
