Description
Plaza Andrés de Lorenzo Cáceres is a charming 16th century square at the heart of the historic center of Icod de los Vinos. Surrounded by neoclassical railings and tropical gardens, it offers an excellent vantage point for viewing the famous Dragon Tree (Drago Milenario), one of the oldest and largest dragon trees in the world, declared a National Monument in 1917.
The plaza is decorated with statues of local personalities and shady palm trees, Indian laurels and yakarandas. On weekends, visitors can enjoy temporary exhibitions and traditional handicrafts from Tenerife. It's the perfect place to relax and start exploring the town's other attractions.
