Description
Setenil de las Bodegas is a unique town in Andalusia, famous for its houses built into the rocks. The more than 800-year-old cave dwellings, dating back to Moorish times, offer natural protection from the heat. Strolling down the Calle Jabonería street, you can admire the stunning cave houses and cross an old Roman bridge over the Guadalporcún River. It's worth climbing to the Mirador del Carmen viewpoint (almost 100 stairs!) to see the town's panorama and visit the Hermitage of the Virgin of Carmel. Historical landmarks, including the 14th-century Torre del Homenaje tower, complete the magic of the place.
