Description
National Trust - Levant Mine and Beam Engine is a unique UNESCO-listed industrial monument on the clifftop coast of Cornwall.
It is the world's only Cornish steam engine still powered by steam in its original location! Built around 1840 by Harvey's of Hayle, it is a testament to the engineering genius of the time.
A short underground tour provides a glimpse into the mine's shafts and tunnels, learning about the difficult working conditions of the miners. The visitor center brings the fascinating history of the site to life through exhibitions and a film.
