Description

The Marquette Building is one of Chicago's earliest steel-framed skyscrapers, completed in 1895. This historic landmark is a masterpiece of the Chicago School of Architecture, designed by Holabird & Roche.

The building impresses with its terra cotta facade and famous Chicago windows, providing abundant natural light. Most impressive is the two-story lobby decorated with mosaics, sculptures and bronze panels depicting the journey of Jacques Marquette's father - the first European settler in Chicago.

The mosaics by Louis Comfort Tiffany, made of luxurious glass, mother-of-pearl and semi-precious stones, are a true feast for art and history lovers.
