Description
Fort Union Trading Post National Historic Site is a reconstructed 19th century trading post that was the most important fur trading center on upper Missouri between 1828 and 1867.
It is a unique place where different cultures - Indian tribes and white traders - peacefully coexisted, exchanging buffalo hides for guns, blankets and beads.
During the summer season you can find historical interpreters demonstrating ancient crafts like blacksmithing and weaving. The site offers a fascinating journey through time, allowing you to understand the importance of cultural exchange in American history.
