Description
The Fort de Brégançon is a historic fortress located on a rocky promontory in Bormes-les-Mimosas, offering breathtaking views of the Mediterranean. Built in 1483 as part of a coastal defense system, it was later fortified by Napoleon Bonaparte.
Since 1964, it has served as the summer residence of French presidents, following an extensive renovation by architect Pierre Jean Guth.
The site combines a fascinating history, from the ancient Ligurians to modern French politics, and is a symbol of the strategic importance of France's southern coast.
