Vela Spila - Vela Luka

Vela Spila - Vela Luka is one of the most important prehistoric caves in Europe, with evidence of human presence dating back to the early Stone Age (ca. 20,000 BC).

This fascinating site hides thousands of ceramic artifacts, including Europe's oldest examples of clay products, some 17,500 years old.

The cave impresses with a large chamber with two holes in the ceiling, creating an amazing play of light. It offers breathtaking views of the Vela Luka archipelago and the Adriatic Sea.
