Description

Torpa Stenhus is a fascinating medieval castle located on Lake Åsunden in southern Sweden.

Built around 1470 as a fortress against the Danes, it impresses with a well-preserved Renaissance interior with wall paintings and a Baroque-style chapel.

The castle is famous as the former seat of the noble Stenbock family and the home of Catherine Stenbock, the last wife of King Gustav I.

Today you can admire the beautifully preserved chambers with historic furniture and enjoy traditional Swedish baked goods in the castle's cafe. The peaceful surroundings and picturesque gardens create the perfect backdrop for unforgettable moments.
