Description
Murallas de Mirambel is one of the best-preserved medieval fortifications in the Aragon region. Part of the fortifications were built by the Knights Templar, and five towers remain today, two of which are located in the northern part of the complex.
The town of Mirambel, surrounded by these historic walls, was awarded the Europa Nostra Gold Medal in 1981 for its exemplary restoration, which preserved its medieval character and atmosphere.
Walking around the walls, you'll discover a fascinating combination of Templar and Renaissance architecture that will take you back in time to centuries past.
