Description
The Staircase of Giants is a monumental neoclassical staircase connecting the center of Trieste with the San Giusto district. Originally built in 1810, the current structure dates from 1907 and is stunning in its architecture with double flights of stairs, niches and fountains.
Climbing the 252 limestone steps, you'll discover incredible panoramic views of the city and the Gulf of Trieste. This is the perfect place for photography and history lovers.
The staircase leads to the Memorial Park dedicated to the fallen soldiers of World War I, representing not only an architectural masterpiece, but also an important part of the city's history.
