Bufavento Yurdu

Bufavento Yurdu is a fascinating castle located at the top of the Kyrenia mountain range in Northern Cyprus, 954 meters above sea level. Its name means 'Resisting the winds' and comes from the Italian language.

The castle was built during the Byzantine period and was part of the island's defense system. Its strategic location allowed for the transmission of signals between the castles of St. Hilarion and Kantara.
