Description

Bant's Carn Burial Chamber and Halangy Down Ancient Village is one of the best examples of prehistoric entrance tombs on the Isles of Scilly.

Dating from the Middle Bronze Age (1500-1000 BC), this tomb offers a fascinating insight into ancient burial practices. Its boat-shaped chamber and four large covering slabs have symbolic astronomical significance.

Below is the Iron Age settlement of Halangy Down, which operated for about 500 years until the end of the Roman period. Discover 11 stone houses with distinctive architectural features and feel the spirit of the ancient islanders.
