Description
Haus der sieben Laster is a fascinating monument from the 16th century, built in 1567 in Limburg on the Lahn. This unique house combines elements of the Renaissance and Baroque, and its name refers to the seven deadly sins.
The most characteristic element of the building are the grotesque faces carved into the beams, symbolizing pride, envy, greed, lust, gluttony, anger and sloth. It is not only a monument, but also a small art gallery and antique store.
While strolling through the old town, combine a visit to this building with a visit to Limburg Cathedral and the oldest free-standing frame house in Germany - Römer 2-4-6.
