Description
Hafod Copperworks is a fascinating industrial monument in Swansea, once the largest copperworks in the world. Founded in 1810 by John Vivian, it employed more than 1,000 people and contributed to the city's nickname 'Copperopolis'.
The area includes Grade II listed buildings, including the historic Musgrave and Vivian engine houses. The site is currently being revitalized, combining history with modernity.
Visitors can admire the distinctive tall chimney, engine and rolling mills, and enjoy information panels and audio trails that introduce the fascinating industrial history of Wales.
