Description
Gottschlägtal-Karlsruher Grat is a unique hiking area in the Black Forest, offering a 12-kilometer loop with breathtaking views.
The trail passes through dense forests, scenic valleys and rocky ridges, including the famous 400-meter Karlsruher Grat mountain ridge, formed from porphyry quartz by millions of years of erosion.
The area is part of a 154-hectare nature reserve that protects endangered plant species. The trail is of medium difficulty, with an elevation gain of about 800 meters, and requires good footwear and careful navigation.
