Bitterbachschlucht

Bitterbachschlucht is a picturesque forest gorge located near Lauf an der Pegnitz. This geological wonder of nature impresses with its steep, partially undercut walls covered with moss and ferns, deep crevices and small waterfalls.

Along the Rektor-Karl-Hoffmann-Pfad path there are 27 information boards that explain the formation of the gorge and the importance of the forest ecosystem. The place is ideal for nature lovers and families with children.

After the hike, you can relax on picnic benches along the riverbank, enjoying the enchanting scenery of this unique corner of Franconia.
