Description
Zentrum für verfolgte Künste is a unique museum in Solingen, the only one of its kind in Europe, dedicated to artists persecuted by dictatorships and totalitarian regimes.
The collection includes more than 3,500 exhibits - paintings, books, documents and photographs, with a special focus on 'degenerate art' from the Nazi period.
Permanent and temporary exhibitions present art and literature along with biographies of the artists, highlighting the transformative potential and diversity of art of the first decades of the 20th century. It is a moving journey through the history of artists whose opportunities for advancement were limited by political and social turmoil.
