Description
Rheinfels is an impressive medieval castle towering over the Rhine River in St. Goar. Built in 1245, it was one of the most powerful fortresses in the region, surviving numerous sieges.
Discover fascinating underground mine passages dating back to the 17th century, climb the clock tower offering breathtaking views of the Middle Rhine Valley, and explore the largest self-supporting vaulted cellar in Europe.
The medieval courtyard with preserved fragments of original plaster from the 13th century allows you to travel back in time and imagine life in the former fortress.
