Burg Reichenberg

Burg Reichenberg is one of the most important and remarkable castle complexes in the Rheinland-Pfalz region. Dating back to the early 14th century, this monument impresses with its unique late medieval architecture, including an impressive fortified wall and tall flanking towers.

The castle was built by Count Wilhelm I von Katzenelnbogen and his son. Of particular interest is a hall with a ceiling supported by cubic capitals, attesting to the high level of skill of the builders.

Although the castle is privately owned and can only be visited from the outside, its picturesque location offers breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside.
