Untertor Ravensburg

Untertor Ravensburg is one of the oldest city gates, dating back to 1363. This fascinating monument is part of the city's medieval fortifications.

A unique feature of the gate is the machicolation, an architectural defensive detail that allowed tar to be poured on attackers.
