Description
The Street of Human Rights is a monumental outdoor sculpture in Nuremberg, designed by Israeli artist Dani Karavan.
It consists of 27 white concrete pillars 8 meters high, on which are engraved the articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in German and other world languages.
This unique site symbolizes Nuremberg's break from its Nazi past and its transformation into a 'City of Peace and Human Rights'. UNESCO recognized these efforts by awarding the city the Human Rights Education Prize in 2001.
