SWR Sendemast

SWR Sendemast is an 82-meter broadcast tower located on Königstuhl Hill in Heidelberg.

Originally serving as a water tower, it is now a key component of the broadcasting infrastructure of the Südwestrundfunk network. It transmits public and private programs via 6 multiplexes, including DVB-T2 and DAB+ services, and 4 analog FM radio channels.

Although the viewing platform at a height of 30 meters is currently closed for safety reasons, the tower remains a fascinating technical object of great significance to regional media history and broadcasting technology.
