Bernkastel-Wehlen / Mosel

Bernkastel-Wehlen / Mosel is a charming wine farm located in the picturesque Mosel Valley. It is famous for producing some of the most elegant white wines, especially from the Wehlener Sonnenuhr vineyard, where gentle slopes and slate-rich soils give the wines a mineral character.

The place is known as 'the place of 100 sundials,' and the clock itself at the Wehlener Sonnenuhr vineyard has an interesting history - the number 7 is missing from it, because at that hour the place is always in shadow.

The only suspension bridge on the Moselle is worth seeing, as are the beautifully preserved half-timbered houses, including the Kerpen'sche Haus from 1614.
