Description
Ruines du fort de Saint-Cirq-Lapopie are the fascinating ruins of a medieval fort located on a 100-meter cliff above the Lot River.
It is a site of extraordinary historical significance - the former seat of one of the four viscounties of the Quercy region. The preserved remains of three castles and a 15th century Gothic church designed by Guillaume Cappelle create a unique atmosphere.
The ruins offer a breathtaking view of the Lot River valley and the picturesque countryside that has inspired many artists over the years, including post-impressionist Henri Martin and surrealist André Breton.
