Description
Rocamadour is a breathtaking medieval village suspended on a cliff in southwestern France.
It is a place of extraordinary religious significance, home to the famous Black Madonna in the Notre Dame Chapel and the relics of St. Amadour in the Basilica of Saint Saveur.
As part of the Way of St. James and a UNESCO site, Rocamadour has attracted both kings and ordinary pilgrims for centuries. Walking up the 216 steps of the Grand Steps, you'll discover cascading stone houses, majestic towers and a castle, and from the vantage points of l'Hospitalet and Le Coin du Photographe, you'll enjoy a spectacular panorama of the Alzou Valley.
