Description
Viaduc du Caramel is a historic viaduct built between 1908 and 1912, part of the former Menton-Sospel streetcar line. This unique 125-meter-long structure consists of 13 arches and a distinctive omega-shaped loop below the road.
The viaduct offers one of the most prestigious panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and valleys, making it ideal for photography and nature lovers.
It is worth knowing that the viaduct was designed so that it could be easily destroyed if necessary - a requirement of the Ministry of War. Today it is a fascinating monument of engineering and transportation, located along the scenic Great Alps Road.
