Description
Écluse de Ganil is a unique tourist attraction located in picturesque Saint-Cirq-Lapopie, France.
The most fascinating feature of the site is an impressive bas-relief carved into the limestone rock. This 50-meter square work of art, created by sculptor Daniel Monnier, depicts the river and its surroundings - fauna, flora, rocks and water currents.
An easy-to-follow path follows the Lot River, offering breathtaking views of the steep rocks plunging into the water. For the more active, there is an option to extend the walk to the nearby village of Saint-Cirq-Lapopie.
