Abbaye De Valbonne

Abbaye De Valbonne is a unique monument dating back to the 13th century that impresses with minimalist Romanesque architecture characteristic of the Chalais order. Built between 1199 and 1230, it offers a tranquil atmosphere and excellent acoustics, making it a frequent venue for concerts and cultural events.

The abbey has retained its original character with features such as the sacristy, chapter house, refectory and kitchen. A chapel dedicated to the White Penitents was opened here in the 17th century, and the Romanesque south windows were enlarged in the 19th century.
