Château du Haut-Ribeaupierre (Or Altenkastel)

Château du Haut-Ribeaupierre (Or Altenkastel) is one of the oldest castles in the region, dating back to the 11th century.

Its imposing circular tower offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Alsace Plain and surrounding mountain peaks.

The castle has a rich history - it was besieged in the 13th century and served as a prison for notable figures, including Sir John Harleston. It is accessible on foot via the 'Circuit des trois châteaux' trail, part of a scenic route linking three historic castles.
