Black's Barbecue Lockhart

Black's Barbecue Lockhart is the oldest family-owned barbecue restaurant in Texas, operating since 1932. It was originally a butcher store where leftover cuts of meat were smoked - which became the main attraction of the establishment.

The unique smokehouse system, introduced by Edgar Black Jr. after World War II, has been in continuous operation for more than 90 years! In 2022, the restaurant was named a Texas Treasure Business, recognizing its enduring heritage and commitment to quality.
