Ellis Island

Ellis Island is a historic place that was a major immigration station in the US from 1892 to 1954, receiving more than 12 million immigrants.

Today, it functions as the National Museum of Immigration, offering fascinating exhibitions and an extensive collection of artifacts. The Family History Center allows visitors to discover new layers of their origins through a unique database of arriving immigrants.

The island can be explored on guided tours, which also include the former immigration hospital. Audio tours are available in 12 languages, including family-friendly and adapted versions for people with disabilities.
