Description

Ehrenmal is a touching memorial dedicated to the residents of Triberg who died during World War I and World War II.

This place of reflection offers a memorial hall on the first floor with exhibits and artifacts related to the war.

The memorial is an important part of the Black Forest region's history and a reminder of the sacrifice of its people. Located in picturesque surroundings, it is an ideal spot to stop and reflect while visiting other Triberg attractions, such as the famous waterfall and the Black Forest Museum.

avatarDanielle Cummings2 years agoCame here early on a Monday August morning with my 6, 4, and 2 year old daughters looking to pass some time until our day's destination opened. I knew there was a parking lot directly at the monument (Parkplatz beim Ehrenmal), but could not for the life of me figure out how to get to it, and even having seen it now, I can't actually imaging driving my car there and parking it. We ended up parking on Waldstrasse just after it started from Kroneckweg, where there are about 4 spots on the side of the road, and walked the 5-10 minutes at my 4yo's pace. The path branches off of Waldstrasse to the left, while the road goes down and to the right, and is stroller friendly, though we didn't take ours. Eventually we came up to a sign about the monument and the path that leads up to the monument. We were able to enter the yard around the monument, but the monument itself was closed, which was quite disappointing. There were some benches that we had a snack on. It was a nice peaceful walk but would have been much better if we had been able to climb it.
