Basilica Nuestra Señora De La Altagracia

The Nuestra Señora De La Altagracia Basilica is an impressive spiritual symbol of the Dominican Republic, where the famous Miraculous Portrait of Our Lady of Altagracia, venerated since 1571, is kept.

The modern architecture of the basilica, completed in 1970, blends traditional and contemporary elements to create a spectacular sacred space.

It is a pilgrimage site for more than 800,000 people a year who come to see the image of the Virgin Mary. The grounds also include a museum that takes a look at the history and significance of this unique place of worship.
